This project was implemented within the framework of a cooperation with Elias Farbglashütte Lauscha; the task was to newly interpret the traditional forest glass, which is created from Thuringian Forest sand. The project started with a workshop in the Thuringian Forest, where we were first introduced to the traditional profession of the glassblower and the workflows in a glass hut. Especially the urge for perfection the glassmakers showed, was astonishing.

The outcome is Handwerker, a product line which emphasizes the artisan production by its imperfect aesthetics. The hand is central to the production process. The imprint of the common workshop glove in the glass becomes a personal signature of the respective glassmaker. It is a reference to the individual production of each product and offers a firm grip at the same time when using the glass.
In cooperation with Elias Farbglashütte Lauscha and Luzie Deubel.
